Hello
My name is Tereza. I have completed all academic and clinical requirements of the regulated CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, widely recognized as the gold standard for rigorous, face-to-face clinical training in the UK. I am a Student Member of the BACP, with full individual registration processing upon graduation. To ensure my clients have access to practical, everyday coping strategies, I also hold an ACCPH-accredited Professional Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Ofqual Level 5 equivalent), alongside a specialist 80-hour Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling. My training is fully mapped to BACP competencies for practice, ensuring safe, ethical, and structured therapeutic support across video and phone mediums, as well as face to face sessions. Combined with my First Class Honours modular degree in Psychology and Health Studies from The Open University, my training allows me to blend deep, reflective therapy with structured, goal-oriented tools tailored to your unique personality.
My Professional Background & Specialism
In addition to my work with the general public, my clinical perspective is uniquely enriched by my earlier career. Before training as a therapist, I worked with patients in healthcare, including the NHS, and as a Restorative Justice Practitioner working with young people within the Criminal Justice System, as well as supporting victims of crime. I have completed an MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice System with Distinction at King’s College London.
While my day-to-day practice is primarily open to individuals from all walks of life, this background gives me a distinct understanding of trauma, systemic stress, hyper-vigilance and moral injury. It allows me to provide highly competent care for professionals navigating the aftermath of crime, including those working in the emergency services, probation, social care and legal profession who face heavy psychological demands at work.
I am fully insured, ICO registered and have an Enhanced DBS.
The St Rita Name
The practice is named after St Rita, a historical symbol of profound resilience, enduring hope, and navigating seemingly impossible situations. While the name honors these universal values of restoration and personal strength, my practice is evidence-based, and welcomes individuals of all faiths, backgrounds, and walks of life.
